Shopfront: Garrett O'Hagan's shop Haus in Temple Bar is not known for inexpensive prices and while a new line designed by Terence Conran may not be cheap, it is relatively affordable: a sign of the times perhaps.

The Content collection by Conran includes sofas (€1,800), dining tables (€950), shelving (€700), chairs (€360) and accessories all made from high quality materials. But what's good about the furniture is that it is modern, but not too modern.

Classic may be the biggest cliché going in contemporary furniture but it's the most apt description. It's all pretty subtle, with upholstery in solid shades - blues, greys, black and some red - and elegant spindly legs on tables and chairs. What we like best are solid block sideboards and lean horizontal sofas. Those looking for shelving should ask about the Balance shelf unit, an open back piece with asymmetric panels.
