Weingut Max Ferd. Richter, Mosel, 2005 Valdenz Elisenberg, Riesling Auslese, 9%, €35:The current vintage of Dr Dirk Ferd. Richter's sensual dessert wine is dominated by vivacious orchard fruit and good balancing gentle acidity. Mosel wines are characterised by their lightness of texture and purity of perfume and this wine does not disappoint. From: Wicklow Wine Company

Weingut Reichsrat von Buhl, Pfalz, 2002, Forster Bischofsgarten, Riesling Kabinett, 9%, €25.95:Kabinett is the designation for fine lighter wines from ripe grapes with low alcohol levels and this is a charming off-dry example with kerosene, honey and rhubarb on the nose, a medium-bodied texture laced with orange peel and balancing acidity and a leisurely finish. From: Berry Brothers, Harry Street, Dublin

Weingut Geheimer Rat Dr von Bassermann-Jordan, Pfalz, 2005, Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad, Riesling Trocken, 11.5%, €15.95:A racy lemon and lime infused dry wine with bracing acidity and a refreshing finish. Brilliant with seafood. From: Probus, Oughterard, Co Galway
