I am continually surprised by the quality of Catice foundations. This is a full coverage foundation which spreads beautifully, covers flawlessly and lasts. Mix with moisturiser for a lighter look for dry skin. If you have oily skin it won’t slide off without a fight.

The foundation above will cover many blemishes. If you you suffer from acne or raccoon eyes after too many late nights you might want the security of a great concealer. This is one of the best out there.

Mascara

Catrice 3D Lash Mutimizer €4.49

Keeping up with the endless mascara merry go round isn’t easy. The only way I can get to try them all is to wear two different mascaras at a time; one on the right eye, another on the left. This is how I know that this Catrice Mascara is a volume, lash thickening wonder that bats well above its weight in the price stakes. If you like full, voluminious lashes this is the one for you.

Lipstick

Essence Longlasting Lipstick €2.89

Available in ten shades, these lipsticks have good staying power but won’t dry your lips out. In a blind test you wouldn’t have a clue that they weren’t high end. Pick a shade from nude to fuschia and if you’re a fan of red this collection includes an outstanding rouge.

Eyeliner

I’m a fan of liquid eyeliner and one of the best ones I’ve found was from Dealz. It’s not just the liquid liner that’s good, most of the range is good quality.. It’s so cheap because Dealz is part of a retailing giant which buys cosmetics in bulk. The customer benefits from their bargaining power. Everything costs €1.49
