Bloomsday is a celebration of the life of Irish writer James Joyce, observed annually worldwide on June 16, the day his 1922 novel Ulysses takes place in 1904, the date of his first outing with his wife-to-be Nora Barnacle.

Storm Chandra: Floods devastate parts of Ireland and cause commuter chaos
Dozens of homes and businesses in Wexford, Dublin and Wicklow were damaged in significant flooding that also caused serious disruption to road, rail and air travel following a deluge of rain during Storm Chandra on Tuesday.
