Bang the Beat #10

Featuring Scuba Death, One Circle, Conforce, Aïsha Devi, Prostitutes and Manuel Gonzales

Scuba Death Nociception
(Further Records)
Digitalis veteran Ricardo Donoso appears on Further under the new alias Scuba Death and delivers an album's worth of dark, dubbed-out ambient techno. Fans of Dozzy will like this.

One Circle Transparency
(Gang Of Ducks)
The trio of Lorenzo Senni, Vaghe Stalle and A:RA release an EP of strange, but still rather epic and distinctly modern techno. Check out the recent Juno Plus feature on the Italian underground for more info on this trio and their label.

Conforce Depth Over Distance
(Delsin)
This is quality dub techno from a man who knows all about – this fresh EP on Delsin is another solid release from the Dutchman. He's got two remixes on a new Caron 12" on his own Transcendent label this month too.

Aïsha Devi Hakken Dub (IVVVO Remix)
(Danse Noir) Opal Tapes and Public Information laureate IVVVO distills Devi's original's 160bpm fire-starter down to slinking techno embers and the results are magical. This 12" also includes a typically trippy Heiroglyphic Being remix, so you know it's good.

Prostitutes Dragged It Home To Bed
(Night School) Another month, another quality release from Cleveland's Prostitutes. This is even more minimal and stripped back than usual; a barebones techno track that rattles and hums in all the right places.

Manuel Gonzales Chip Implemented
(Wicked Bass) A typically battered and bruised bit of machine-funk from Gonzales (right), one of the best of Detroit's new wave of lo-fi experimentalists. His other recent 12" on Berceuse Heroique is also unmissable.
