Irish 'Duck' for film fest

The Ugly Duckling and Me, a Danish animated feature co-produced by Galway's Magma Films, has been selected for the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.

The picture, which details picaresque adventures involving the titular bird and his companion Ratso, will be shown as part of The Family Zone, a season dedicated to children's entertainments. The Ugly Duckling and Me, featuring voice work from such Irish talent as Paul Tylak and Michelle Read, opens here early next year.
