Friday: September Girls, Tommy Trash and more

BUZZSAW POP
September Girls
Bello Bar, Dublin 8pm €12

Back in January, this five-piece brillo-pad-pop band (above) released their debut album, Cursing the Sea. Now, they launch new material via EP Veneer, which sheds gorgeous glimpses as to where they're headed to in 2015. Like pop with a hard centre? Here you go.

CLUB
Tommy Trash
Mandela Hall, Belfast 9pm £25

One of many DJs who has enjoyed a big uptake in popularity and gigs thanks to the EDM buzz, Tommy Trash is the Aussie lad behind a rake of big tunes over the past few years. Releases and remixes for labels Spinnin', Boys Noize, Mau5trap and Fool's Gold are what have kept him in clover. Support in the main room from Felix Leiter, Cutser & Duke and Decibel, while Moth host Room 2 with Dale Hooks, Deep City Groove and Richie Blacker.

TOY SHOW
Bring the Toys
Back Page, Phibsboro, Dublin 7, 8pm

You could stay in and watch The Late Late Toy Show tonight and relive just how miserable your childhood was compared to the modern-day bling equivalent (or perhaps that's just me). Instead, though, get down to the Back Page where the Bodytonic crew will be hosting Bring the Toys. Punters are asked to bring an unwrapped gift (avoid cuddly bears; think games, books, CDs, and other toys), and all donations will go to the Children's University Hospital, Temple Street. Tunes on the night will come from Nic James, Crego, our own Jim Carroll and more, and The Late Late Toy Show will be on screens out the back if you can't get by without Tubridy. There'll also be mince pies, mulled wines, games galore and other assorted shenanigans.
