A report in some later editions yesterday headed "Bank of Ireland decision to close Howth branch draws sharp criticism from local businesses" said the bank proposed to reduce its network of 300 branches in the Republic to 50 or 60. In fact, it plans to reduce the number by 50 or 60.

Both euros and pounds will be legal tender from January 1st until February 9th 2002, not 2001 as stated in an article headed "Security of cash a major concern" in yesterday's editions.
