Win a foodie getaway at Ballyvolane House, Co Cork.

Ballyvolane House is giving one lucky Irish Times reader the chance to win a one-night stay with a four-course dinner and breakfast. The winner will also receive a bottle of Bertha’s Revenge Gin to take home.

The lovely family-run country house, Ballyvolane House, set in the rolling North Cork countryside, and surrounded by 80 acres of its own lush gardens and farmland dotted with cows and rare-breed pigs is the perfect getaway. Justin and Jenny Green are the third generation of family to run the property with the help of their three children, and Justin’s dad, Jer Green, who has been restoring, developing and maintaining the gardens at Ballyvolane House for over 60 years, with extraordinary results.

This magical destination is home to delicious home-grown produce from their own three-acre walled garden too, freshly gathered every day and used for the well-provided table during your four-course dinner. The produce is also used in their drinks using Ballyvolane’s own award-winning small batch Irish milk gin, Bertha’s Revenge. Included in your stay is your very own private distillery tour and tasting of Bertha’s Revenge Gin with co-founder and distiller, Justin Green.

Peaceful and inviting, ramble through the woodlands, explore the orchards and admire the gardens, learn to fly fish on the Blackwater river, or simply cosy up at Ballyvolane and enjoy one of their B&Ts with a good book, relaxing on a sun-lounger on the south-facing lawns.
