Spanish-Irish investment firm backs two start-ups

Idodi has invested €100,000 apiece in Barcelona-based Offemily and Deliberry

Idodi Venture Capital, a Spanish-Irish investment vehicle that has backed a number of early stage tech start-ups, has said it has invested €200,000 in two Barcelona-based firms.

The firm, which is based in the Digital Hub in Dublin city centre, said on Tuesday it had invested €100,000 apiece in the kidswear firm Offemily and in home delivery company Deliberry.

Idodi is owned by Spanish investor and technology consultant Marc Vidal.

Overall, the group has made five investments worth close to €1 million since it was established nine months ago. Other start-ups to receive funding include the Irish firm LetMeSpace, NYC-based big data company Kompyte and UK fintech organisation ThePaypro.

Mr Vidal told The Irish Times that Idodi was preparing four new investments in companies focusing in areas including the Internet of Things and ecommerce.
