Profits double at Sheology

Sheology Digital’s revenues increased 134% as profits more than doubled in 2013

Media company Sheology Digital, publisher of Irish sites Mummypages.ie, MagicMum.com and Shemazing.net, recorded a 134 per cent increase in revenues to €1.04 million for 2013. Profits more than doubled, from €90,256 to €183,570 during the same period.

Sheology co-founder Cormac McKenna said the rise in sales comes on the back of strong growth following the acquisition of competing website MagicMum.com, which is Ireland’s second-largest mum’s site as measured by monthly unique users.

Revenues were also helped by growth in the company's UK site, MummyPages.co.uk, which Mr McKenna said now reaches more than 1.2 million unique users per month. It also has the second-largest Facebook page targeted at mums in the UK.

He said the company has recently accelerated its progress in the British market with the hiring of Lawrence Chmara to head up sales efforts there.
