Etihad to sponsor Gaelic games streaming service GAAGo

Suscription-based service reached an audience of over 600,000 people last year

Etihad Airways is to sponsor GAAGo, the Gaelic games streaming service for those outside Ireland.

The subscription-based service, run by the GAA and RTÉ last year, reached an audience of over 600,000 people in over 157 countries last year.

An expanded programme this year will incorportate 45 games from this year’s football and hurling senior championships inlcuding The Sunday Game, RTÉ’s flagship highlights programme.

Etihad's general manager in Ireland Beatrice Cosgrove said: "The service has revolutionised the viewing of GAA games around the world and now, for the first time, fans can also watch the all important RTÉ Sunday Game live each weekend."

The initiative marks an expansion of the GAA’s commercial relationship with Etihad, which also sponsors the hurling championship.

As part of the announcement, customers of GAAGo will receive a 20 per cent discount on a season pass, a GB Pass or any of this weekend’s programmes when purchasing using the promo code “ETIHAD” before the end of June.

Noel Quinn, the GAA's media rights manager, said: "This support from Etihad represents another vote of confidence in what is fast becoming an indispensible service for GAA fans outside Ireland."
