LEINSTER HURLING Dublin 2-17 Wexford 2-13: DUBLIN overcame two second-half dismissals to see off Wexford in their Walsh Cup hurling semi-final in Gorey on Saturday.

Not even the dismissal of John Kelly on 41 minutes, and John McCaffrey, six minutes later, could prevent Dublin from outplaying Wexford. Even after been reduced to 13 they outscored the home side 1-5 to 1-4.

Dublin, having controlled most of the first half, with Shane Ryan goaling after five minutes, went on to lead 1-9 to 0-8 at the interval, with only Diarmuid Lyng’s pointed frees keeping Wexford in touch.

Within six minutes of the restart Kelly was sent off on a second yellow card and six minutes later McCaffrey was dismissed on a second yellow.

Dublin’s Maurice O’Brien stormed out of defence before laying the ball off to substitute Kevin O’Loughlin who goaled for a 2-12 to 1-9 lead, Lyng having netted a Wexford free in the 46th minute.
