Syndicate collects €8.5m Lotto jackpot winnings

THE SYNDICATE that won the €8,533,395 jackpot in Saturday’s Lotto draw collected the winnings yesterday.

THE SYNDICATE that won the €8,533,395 jackpot in Saturday’s Lotto draw collected the winnings yesterday.

The ticket that won the jackpot for the 20 members of the KennCo Underwriting syndicate was a €20 quickpick ticket which was purchased in the Centra store in Grange Road Retail Park, Rathfarnham, last Friday.

The jackpot will be divided evenly, with each syndicate member getting €426,669.75.

Of the 20 members of the winning group, nine prefer to keep their identities private.

The 11 members of the group who went public were named by the National Lottery yesterday as: Ger Murphy, Clare Foye, Olive Tully, Barry Fitzgerald, Amy Anderson, Alex Burke, Elena Montoya, Ronan Carroll, Nicola Moore, Mary Goulding and John Kennedy.

John Kennedy, Managing Director, KennCo said the syndicate had been in existence for “a little over a year and we do it on an ad-hoc basis, so sometimes, staff don’t play at all.

“This was the one draw when everyone, even people who were out of the office, played the game. Aren’t we all glad we did,” said Mr Kennedy.
