Manchester United captain Roy Keane is expected to return from an ankle injury for Sunday's crucial Premiership showdown with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Keane was an unused substitute against Panathinaikos on Tuesday but manager Alex Ferguson seems certain to play him despite not being 100 per cent fit.

Ferguson has played down reports that Keane requires surgery on his ankle problem.

Phil Neville, Quinton Fortune and John O'Shea know their places are most at risk from Keane's return.

Provisional squad: Howard, Carroll, G Neville, P Neville, Silvestre, Ferdinand, O'Shea, Fortune, Butt, Solskjaer, Ronaldo, Keane, Djemba-Djemba, Giggs, van Nistelrooy, Forlan, Fletcher, Richardson.
