Human egg auction criticised

London - Fertility groups have reacted with horror to a US website which offers to sell eggs donated by models to the highest bidders in an online auction. The site, which would be illegal in Britain, asks for bids for the eggs of models, whose photographs appear on the site. From today minimum bids of between £15,000 and £150,000 - depending on the model - can be made.
