Co Cork-based outsourcing services provider Abtran is to create 250 graduate-level jobs at a new research and developmental centre by the end of next year.

he ten-year old company already employs 600 people providing business services to Irish and international clients including BSkyB, ESB and Hibernian Aviva Health. Its annual turnover is close to €30 million.

At a briefing in Abtran’s learning and innovation centre Taoiseach Brian Cowen said the investment was due to the “exceptional work” of management and staff.

“Apart from its steady growth at home, Abtran, with support from Enterprise Ireland, is winning business overseas, which provides a further economic boost in employment and monetary terms,” Mr Cowen said.
