SUSPECTED DISSIDENT republicans have continued targeting Sinn Féin members by attacking the home of Assembly member Daithí McKay in Rasharkin, Co Antrim. Mr McKay said glass in the front door of his house was broken early yesterday morning.

The attack follows sectarian incidents against Protestants in Rasharkin recently, again allegedly at the hands of dissident republicans, and of a death threat against Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness in Derry and an attack on the home of Sinn Féin MLA member Mitchel McLaughlin, also in Derry.

Mr McKay said Sinn Féin would stand “toe to toe against these criminal groups masquerading as republicans”.
