Abidjan - Two people - a Mali national and an Ivorian - were killed in violence linked to municipal elections in the west of Ivory Coast, the Interior Minister, Mr Emile Boga Doudou, said yesterday.

Some 5.4 million voters were eligible to cast ballots to elect representatives to 197 municipalities for the next five years. The voting was otherwise relatively calm.
