In the opening pool match of the Times Trophy, UCD lost out to Glasgow in arctic conditions last night and must now re-group for their encounter with Loughborough tomorrow.
UCD started the match as firm favourites and led by 5-3 at the interval. Glasgow out-half Tim Thompson put his side ahead with an early penalty before UCD's Anthony Carroll touched down following a break by scrum-half John McMahon.
Barry McMahon stretched UCD's lead with a penalty goal after the break but Thompson narrowed the gap with his second penalty. Glasgow's Tim Brummit then finished off after a mazy run from 30 metres with Thompson adding the conversion.
