Sir, - The other morning I heard social welfare recipients being referred to on RTE radio news as "the less well-off", which means that they are actually well-off, doesn't it? Only not so well-off as (say) radio journalists.
It used to be said that the poor would always be with us. It's good to know that RTE has decided that this should no longer be the case. - Yours, etc.,
