MacGill Summer School

Sir, – While Susan McKay (“MacGill Summer School ridiculously out of tune”, Opinion & Analysis, June 21st) is fully entitled to express her views on Joe Mulholland and his selection of speakers for the MacGill Summer School, is she not being sexist and ageist when she describes them as “an array of men, most of them wearing the jackets and ties that signal masculinity and respectability, many of them sporting grey hair”?

I imagine Susan McKay would react very strongly if a group of women were to be referred to by a male columnist by their dress and physical appearance. – Yours, etc,
