Sir, – Considering the lies and misinformation spewed out by US venal right-wing media in the aftermath of the American presidential election, Martyn Turner’s cartoon depicting Justice, wielding her sword in hot pursuit of Rupert Murdoch representing Fox News, was a sight for sore eyes (April 19th).
On first viewing, one might be tempted to think that the image could be a little behind the times, because Fox News has agreed a $787.5 million settlement with Dominion, the makers of some of the voting machines used in the election.
But that is not the end of the story by any means because Smartmatic, the makers of other voting machines, has a similar $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit lodged against Fox News. It seems that the foxhunting season has only just begun. – Yours, etc,

My daughter’s new phone number will stay with her for life. It’s like we’ve given her an invisible, digital tattoo
‘The phone would ring and it would be Mike Scott from the Waterboys or Bono from U2. Everyone wanted to talk to my father’
Chris Packham: ‘I was a very angry young man, confused because of my undiagnosed autism. It had an enormous impact on my life’
Pat Leahy: Have our politicians forgotten what happens when you lose control of the public finances?
