The Mid Western Health Board yesterday gave details of a phased resumption of out-patient, surgical and community services.

At Limerick Regional Hospital, all out-patient appointments scheduled for next week and all those cancelled over the past two weeks are now being reviewed, and patients will be given new appointments on the basis of medical priority.

Surgical and other procedures are also being reviewed and priority given to urgent cases. Normal scheduled theatre work will, it is stated, be resumed on a phased basis.

A statement from the board says that in hospitals for the elderly priority will be given to resuming rehabilitative and respite care. In mental health, the usual services resumed yesterday.

The board states that the caseload in the community service is being reviewed.
