Sterile Technologies has announced that it has acquired BFH Group, a leading clinical waste management company that operates seven disposal facilities in Britain for €ion cash.

The acquisition has been effected through STI UK Limited which is 80 per cent owned by Sterile Technologies Group and 20 per cent by BFH Group directors, Mr Bill Blyde and Mr John Hancock.

Sterile Technologies Group is a Dublin-based, private company, owned by Yeoman International and Rogers Group Waste.

Sterile Technologies Group operates two steam-sterilisation healthcare waste processing facilities in Ireland, located in Dublin and Antrim.

The company handles more than 10,000 tonnes of clinical waste each year and employs 65 people in Ireland.

BFH Group is the third largest service provider in the UK, dealing with more than 26,000 tonnes of clinical waste per annum with a market share of some 13 per cent. BFH Group currently employs over 90 people in the U.K.

Sterile Technologies Group Chief Executive, Niall Wall, saidthe move would give Sterile  an opening into the Brtish  market and would act as ideal platform to grow in Britain.
