The President, Mrs McAleese, is to visit Rathgar Junior School and Kindergarten in Dublin next Wednesday in honour of the school's 80th anniversary. The school, which was founded in 1919 by M. Isabel Douglas and is located at Grosvenor Road, is managed by a committee of members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), parents and others.
Mrs McAleese will plant a commemorative tree in the school grounds and it is hoped that she will be joined by some of the school's first pupils.
