Missing Carlow schoolgirl Amada Shine has been reunited with her parents this morning after she was found in a Dublin train station last night.

The 14-year-old was found in Connolly Station in the city centre at 9.30 p.m. in the company of a man. He was arrested by gardaí from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and is still being questioned in Store Street Garda Station this morning.

He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 having been arrested for an offence under the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

Amanda was also taken to Store Street for medical examination and appeared to be in good health. A Garda spokesman said this morning: "Amanda has been reunited with her parents. A man is still being questioned."

The 24-year-old Wicklow man can be held until about 2 p.m. today, at which time he must be released or charged.

Gardaí launched a nationwide appeal earlier in the week when Amanda was reported missing. She disappeared after leaving the Presentation College, Hacketstown Rd, in Carlow town where she attends school, last Monday afternoon.
