The Government announced today that it has allocated €150,000 towards holding the National Community Games at Mosney, Co Meath over three weekends this summer.

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr McDowell held a meeting with Community Games National Officers recently to discuss the running of the games.

He said the Community Games "provides a wonderful opportunity every year for children to participate in sports and pageantry".

Mosney currently accommodates about 600 asylum-seekers.
