A man in his 30s was killed yesterday when his car was in collision with an oil tanker at Reaghstown, Co Louth, about five miles from Ardee. The main Dublin to Derry N2 road was closed for some hours. The driver of the lorry was removed to the Louth Co Hospital.

A 29-year-old Co Limerick building worker who died in a head-on collision on the Dublin road near Castleconnell on Sunday night has been named as Mr Anthony Cooke (29), of Knocksentry, Lisnagry.
