The man who died following an overnight road incident on the M50 near Dublin has been named as 24-year-old David Noonan, of Tubber Lane, Lucan.

He died when the car he was travelling in left the road and hit a lamppost.

The crash happened near the Lucan exit at 11.15 p.m.Gardai at Ronanstown are appealing for witnesses to the crash.

The deceased was a front seat passenger in the car.

In a separate accident, a 58-year-old man was killed at Carrigduff, Bunclody, county Wexford, yesterday evening.

The man, who has yet to be named, died when the car he was driving crashed into the rear of a line of stopped traffic.

The accident took place in extremely poor weather conditions. The deceased was alone in the car at the time.
