Frank Leboeuf is poised to leave Chelsea after the club confirmed they had agreed a fee with Marseille for the French international defender.

Leboeuf is on his way to Marseille for talks with his hometown club as he seeks to ensure himself a regular first-team place ahead of next summer's 2002 World Cup finals.

The fee agreed between the two clubs is believed to be about £1.2 million sterling for Leboeuf (33) who has only one year left on his contract at Chelsea.
