The High Court has reserved judgment on an action by two garda∅ stationed in Arklow, Co Wicklow, who allege they had been unfairly treated by their superiors.

The case has its roots in allegations of misconduct made in 1992 by Catherine Nevin, now serving a life sentence for the murder of her husband, Tom, and by a young girl.

The proceedings have been brought by Garda Michael Murphy and Garda Vincent Whelan.
