An Investigation has begun into the circumstances surrounding the crash of a light aircraft in which two Dublin men were injured yesterday. The crash occurred in Co Kildare.

The Piper Supercruiser PA12 came down shortly after 2 p.m., embedding itself in a hedge at Kilmacrannock, between Celbridge and Maynooth. The two flyers had left Weston Aerodrome in Leixlip on a short pleasure flight and had intended returning to Weston.

The men were taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown, where their condition is described as "stable".
