Gardaí are expecting directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions before Christmas in relation to the death of boy from Co Meath, an inquest heard yesterday.

Isaac Nwarie (4), Cluain Rí, Ashbourne, Co Meath, died at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, on April 28th, 2010.

Garda Insp Declan Good of Store Street Garda station told the inquest at Dublin Coroner’s Court a file had been with the DPP for some time and gardaí were awaiting a decision.

The boy was taken to St James’s Hospital, Dublin, on April 25th after collapsing at home. Coroner Dr Brian Farrell adjourned the inquest until January 2012.
