A LIMERICK man has been granted £31,600 by the High Court sitting at Ennis yesterday, for injuries sustained while riding a mechanical bucking bronco on Gerry Ryan's Secrets television programme.

Mr Christopher Griffin, Ballinacurra Gardens was injured in October 1992. Miss Justice Laffoy held that RTE was negligent in failing to organise the programme with the safety of the contenders in mind, in particular in not being able to switch off the bronco at the first sign of Mr Griffin being in difficulty.

Mr Griffin was off work for 10 weeks and will have pain and suffering into the future.
