The new discount shopping centre due to open in Co Laois on November 7th has signed up two more impressive tenants. Suits You and Joseph, the Bond Street ladies' fashion retailers, are to occupy units of 5,000 sq ft and 3,700 sq ft.

Tenants will be paying rents of £29 (€36.82) per sq ft plus 12 per cent of turnover. Around 65 per cent of the space in the Rathdowney Factory Outlet Village is now committed, according to Larry Brennan of Hamilton Osborne King. Most of the remaining units are around 2,000 sq ft though the developers Morrison Outlets, can take a number of traders looking for smaller and larger shops.

Other traders lined up to begin trading include The Design House, The Card Company, All Rooms, Bags Etc, Camilla Lingerie, Smoky Jeans and Jean Scene. A letting has also been agreed with a catering company to run the 5,800 sq ft restaurant. The promoters says that shoppers will have a choice of 40 top brand names of goods which will be available at discounts of 30 to 70 per cent below the high street retail price. The village will have over 100,000 sq ft of retail space and parking for 600 cars.
