The bathroom at 18 Chelmsford Avenue is a fresh, bright space painted in Crown Avalanche and designed to get you kickstarted in the morning.
Formerly a bedroom, it was cleverly designed by architect Peter Roberts (01-2807364) to fit a shower and a bath.
The original fireplace is a great focal point for the room. It was restored by John O'Hanlon of Access chimneys (01-493 5600) and blackened with Zebrite carbon paste.
The old-style Philippe Starck sink on chrome legs from the Duravit Happy D range gives the room a French feel. It came from Elegant John bathrooms ( 01-865 8019) and costs €1,102 for the basin and legs. The taps cost from €450. The toilet and sunken bath (on far right of picture) is also from the Happy D range. The bath and panel costs €2,968.

The shower is a Merlyn quadrant shower stocked by Surface Bathrooms (01-663 7803). Prices start at €962 including VAT.
