Part of the South Korean firm’s smart compact camera system, the NX1000 has built-in wifi so you can instantly share photos over email, to Facebook or photo sites such as Picasa. It’s got all the filters and creative effects you need to personalise your pictures, and comes with a 20.3MP sensor. And you can link the device up to your Samsung smartphone, using it as a remote viewfinder, or display your images on a tablet or internet-enabled TV.

Apple iPhone 5

Apple’s latest smartphone broke its own sales records, notching up two million pre-orders in 24 hours and five million sales in its first weekend. So it’s safe to say it’s popular.
Thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the iPhone 5 also comes with a larger screen, at
four inches, and a more powerful chip inside. Some technical wizardry with the screen means it’s brighter than the 4S, and that extra inch gives you a bit more screen real estate too – more emails, more calendar appointments and larger web browsing windows.
Plus it’s wrapped in a nice aluminium case – just be wary of the scratches.

Changing to a healthier lifestyle may take some motivation, and the FitBit Zip is eager to fill that gap for you. The brightly-coloured fitness accessory tracks all of your daily activity, providing you with the odd nudge here and there to get fit, stay on track and generally improve your health.
It links up with your smartphone too – iOS and Android devices – and will also synch all your fitness data with an online account, so you can access it whenever and wherever you need it. It also provides nutrition tips, should you feel the need.
