New research conducted by accountancy firm KPMG has found that half of all private and family businesses surveyed in Ireland have identified a reduction in Government expenditure as the single most important action that could be taken in order to support indigenous business.

“The survey shows that privately and family-owned business have real concerns about the impact of unsustainable public expenditure and its inevitable knock-on effect on business in the form of higher taxes and other costs,” said KPMG tax partner Mike Gaffney.

A total of 300 owners and managers were surveyed.
