Mr Peter Lomax is the new managing director of DHL International (Ireland). He replaces Mr Stephen Day who is taking up a post with DHL Worldwide Express in Brussels. Mr Lomax has worked with DHL UK for the past five years as area director for London and the south-east.

3Com Ireland has appointed Mr Gary Hollowed as network consultant, where his responsibilities will include technical design for voice and data networks and presales technical support. Mr Hollowed has been network consultant for 3Com Canada for the last two years. There are four new partners at accountants, Arthur Andersen. Mr Brian Dunne, from the business consulting division; Mr Conor O'Brien, from the tax division; Mr Conall O'Halloran, from the audit and business advisory division; and Mr Terry O'Neill from the tax section.

LK Shields Solicitors has appointed three new partners to its commercial department. Mr Gerard Halpenny joins from the firm, William Fry.

Mr Justin McKenna joins from Arthur Cox, while Mr Emmet Scully has been with the firm since 1991.

Meanwhile, A & L Goodbody Solicitors, has appointed Mr Kevin Feeney as associate with the firm. He will head up its private finance unit.

Ms Mairead Ryan has been appointed brand manager with Robt Roberts Ltd, the Dublin food distributor and coffee/tea blender. She will head up its portfolio of confectionary brands. She joined the company in 1997, prior to which she worked with Johnson & Johnson.

Mr Paul Kenny has been appointed finance director of Sutcliffe Catering Services, one of the State's largest contract catering companies. Mr Kenny joins the company from Granada Accounting Services, the accounting company for the restaurant and services division of the Granada Group, where he was financial controller.

McNally Design Group, parent company of the Irish Pub Company and International Leisure Design Concepts, has appointed Mr Paul Nolan as group marketing director. He will be responsible for the group's leisure concepts and operations worldwide.
