Heinz has been forced to admit that weight losses related to its products may only be temporary.

The US Federal Trade Commission said it has finally come to an agreement with Heinz's Weight Watchers about its alleged deceptive advertisements. The FTC initiated action against Heinz in 1993, claiming that Weight Watchers deceived the public with customer "testimonials" about weight loss.

From now on, Heinz has agreed, its Weight Watchers advertisements will carry the statement: "For many dieters, weight loss is temporary."
