Computer services company Electronic Data Systems, which employs more than 300 staff in Dublin, said its first-quarter profit rose but sales fell short of analysts' estimates. The company lowered its sales outlook as customers delayed signing contracts.

EDS, which sets up and manages computer systems for large organisations and government agencies, said its first-quarter total revenue rose to $5.34 billion (€6 billion) from $5 billion a year earlier. Analysts had anticipated revenue of $5.7 billion.
