ROSCOMMON SFC/Padraig Pearses 1-8 Roscommon Gaels 0-9:A 36TH-MINUTE goal for Padraig Pearses put them in prime position to topple Roscommon Gaels at Dr Hyde Park yesterday and book their place in the final. John Whyte applied the finish from close range, after strong build-up play from Padraig Corbett.

Pearses had the better of the opening half exchanges, forging into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead after 20 minutes.

They will now face defending champions St Brigid’s, who comfortably beat Elphin in the other semi-final, on October 14th.
