THE GAA yesterday confirmed speculation about this year’s All-Ireland hurling final refereeing appointments with the announcement that Diarmuid Kirwan of Cork would take charge of the senior final between Kilkenny and Tipperary whereas James McGrath will officiate at the Kilkenny-Galway minor match.

It will be Kirwan’s second final in three years.
