After finishing third in her heat on Saturday, Sanita Puspure will contest the quarter-finals of the single sculls this morning.

The 30-year-old Latvian native, who gained Irish nationality last year, kept her powder dry in the heats and is confident of earning a place in the B final.

Noon: Sailing

After winning her first two races, Annalise Murphy will have a target on her back when the Laser Radial competition resumes in Weymouth this afternoon. The Dubliner will be the one to catch in the third (noon) and fourth (2.05pm) races.

Sixth overall, Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern will be hoping for more of the same in the men’s 49er. The Belfast sailors are also back in action at midday, with the fourth race of their regatta due to take place at 12.45pm.

Peter Hillary and David Burrows dropped from second to fifth overall after yesterday’s racing. The Cork pairing take part in their fifth (12.05pm) and sixth races (1.50pm) of the series this afternoon and will aim to climb back up the leaderboard on a course they clearly enjoy.

2pm: Sailing

James Espey did not have a happy afternoon yesterday, struggling home in 38th and 44th place. The 28-year-old needs a marked improvement in today’s two races (2.0pm and 3.15pm) if he is to mount a challenge later in the week.

2.17pm: Badminton

Following her comfortable win over Hadia Hosny on Sunday night, Chloe Magee is unlikely to have things quite so much her own way against PI Hongyan of France.

It will be a straight shootout between the pair after Pi beat Hosny 21-11 21-9 last night, with only the winner of the group making the knock-out stages.
