Clinical Castlebar too hot for Knockmore

Goals prove key difference in Mayo semi-final

The second semi-final was about goals taken by Castlebar and those missed by Knockmore. Castlebar's use of the long ball into the heart of the Knockmore defence produced two excellent first half goals,

Richie Feeney setting up James Durcan for a tap-in goal and Neill Lydon put Neill Douglas through for his side’s second goal to leave Castlebar 2-5 to 0-6 ahead at the interval.

Kevin McLoughlin kept Knockmore in the game but 11 wides proved costly and Danny Kirby scored Mitchels third goal to seal their progress.
