Sir, - Much reference has been made, and quite rightly so, to the "skewing" of the Budget in favour of double income families. Obversely, little has been made of the "skewing" by Budget critics when they state that the Budget "gives more" to the higher-income earners.
What seems to have been overlooked is that these earners currently pay over more of their hard-earned cash than the lower-income earners.
To say that they are being "given more" is an anomaly. They are simply being charged less! - Yours, etc.,
