Putting up political posters

Madam, – Surely the way to start a change in Irish politics would be to ban posters? If we are to move beyond personality politics…

Madam, – Surely the way to start a change in Irish politics would be to ban posters? If we are to move beyond personality politics, we don’t need to see smiling faces hanging out of lampposts. None of them seems to mention any of the relevant concerns, such as unemployment, EU/IMF debt, health, education, taxes, electoral reform or bank bailouts.

And why the smiling faces? – Yours, etc,

Madam, – Your correspondent Niall Ó Domhnaill (February 3rd) asks: “Is there a minimum height for the hanging of (such) posters?” On Thursday morning I drove through three roundabouts on the Dublin Road side of Limerick city and could not help but notice multiple posters (I lost count) bearing Micheál Martin’s image, erected on direction sign-posts at ground level! How low can Fianna Fáil go? – Yours, etc,
