Woman terrorised at home

Gardai in Galway are appealing for information about a break-in in which an elderly woman was terrorised in her home early on Sunday. Two youths broke through the front door in Ballybane at about 2 a.m. and made their way to her bedroom. The woman, who is in her late 70s and lives alone, was in bed. The intruders made a number of demands of the woman. They searched the house for cash. It is understood they left through the front door without getting any money. A Garda spokesman said the woman was very frightened by the experience.
