Two years jail for having handguns

A south Belfast man was yesterday jailed at Belfast Crown Court for two years for having two handguns.

Police discovered the guns with a sash, a Bible, balaclavas, jumpers and gloves when they stopped and searched a car belonging to Andrew Massey (30), of Craigmore Way. He told police later that two men he did not know ordered him to meet another person in Sandy Row who had something "he was to mind for them".

Massey pleaded guilty to having a 9mm Browning pistol and a .38 revolver on January 31st last.
